Developing a healthy workplace culture
Occupational health is about how work affects a person’s health, and how a person’s health affects their work. Good businesses recognise that managing employee health is just as important as managing financial resources. The objectives of occupational health are to:
- Develop a healthy workplace culture, contribute to the business’s success and assist with compliance requirements — including obligations under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and Health and Safety Authority (HSA) regulations covering areas such as noise, vibration, respiratory hazards, chemical and biological agents, night work and display screen equipment
- Provide early intervention to help prevent employees from being absent for health reasons and prevent employees from working when they are not fit putting themselves, other employees, or the business at risk.
- Improve opportunities for people to recover from illness while remaining at work
- Promote individual health and wellbeing, and enhance employee engagement
- Ensure healthy workplaces that protect people from harm
We have been delivering occupational health services across the South East since 2010, supporting organisations in a wide range of industries — from manufacturing and construction to healthcare, food production, pharmaceuticals, logistics and professional services. We understand that protecting employee health is essential for any business that wants to sustain a productive workforce while looking after its people.
Supporting employees to return to work safely after illness or injury is vital — not only for organisational performance, but for the individual’s long-term wellbeing. We pride ourselves on high-quality, timely care, and we take on new clients only when we can guarantee prompt appointments, clear communication and consistently high standards. We know how much a delayed appointment can cost a business, and we would rather say no than let a client down.
Our occupational health service is led by Dr. Ciaran Foley, Dr. Miriam Nugent, and Dr. Emma Aherne who hold Occupational medicine diplomas from the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, RCPI.
Our services include:
- Pre-employment medical assessments
- Occupational health reviews for injury or illness
- Workplace and site visits
- Vaccination programmes
- Health surveillance
- Health screening
- Executive medical assessments (see our BeWell Medical)
